TOOLS NEEDED: Espresso machine and Cocktail shaker.

My first experience with a White Russian was with a group of friends late at night after we were already stuffed from dinner. I was looking for something sweet to put the cherry on top of an excellent meal. The bartender suggested this drink, and I don’t think they could really bring this drink together for a great end to a great night. It has the vibe of dessert and coffee.

You’ll want to keep the ingredients stocked for this one.

  • 2 ounces espresso
  • 2 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur, such as Kahlúa
  • Ice, for serving
  • ½ ounce heavy (whipping) cream

  • Fill a cocktail glass with ice
  • In a cocktail shaker, stir together the espresso, vodka, and coffee-flavored liqueur. Pour the drink over the ice
  • Slowly pour the heavy cream on top

Recipe Tip

Traditionally, this drink doesn’t include espresso. However, my addiction to coffee requires me to include it here! If you want a more traditional White Russian, omit the espresso or just exchange the liqueur for espresso.
